Custom Car Care Wagga isn’t a high-volume detailing shop where your vehicle is passed between employees.
Every vehicle booked into the workshop is personally worked on by owner and detailer Cam Watson, from the initial inspection and preparation through to the final stages of the job.
Cam has more than 30 years of hands-on detailing experience, with Custom Car Care Wagga operating in Wagga Wagga under the same ownership since 2003.
Over that time, thousands of hours have been spent detailing vehicles, correcting paintwork, preparing new cars and working with professional ceramic coating systems.
That experience has reinforced something important:
There is no substitute for proper preparation.

But ultimately, the finished result is determined by the time, knowledge and workmanship that goes into the vehicle.

New Doesn’t Always Mean Perfect
A brand-new vehicle doesn’t necessarily mean perfect paintwork – and it doesn’t automatically mean the vehicle is ready for ceramic coating.
Shipping, handling, storage and dealership preparation can leave new vehicles with swirl marks, light scratches, water spotting, adhesive residue and other defects before the owner has even taken delivery.
A recent 2026 Isuzu MU-X X-Terrain arrived at our workshop with just 32 km on the odometer.
Despite being brand new, the Slate Grey Metallic paintwork required correction and refinement.
The vehicle underwent two days of paint preparation and refinement, along with thorough cleaning and decontamination to remove adhesive residue, grime and other contamination before any coating was applied.
Only once the finish had been properly prepared was the Modesta ceramic protection installed.
That’s why we don’t simply wash a vehicle and apply a coating.
We inspect it. We prepare it. We correct what needs correcting. Then we protect the finish we’ve created.
A ceramic coating can protect what’s underneath it.
It can’t correct defects or compensate for poor preparation underneath it.

If the interior and exterior have gradually deteriorated through everyday use, our Premium Detail provides a comprehensive inside-and-out reset.
The interior receives deep cleaning and shampooing, while the exterior is thoroughly washed and decontaminated before receiving a professional enhancement machine polish to improve gloss and appearance.
It’s designed for vehicles that need considerably more than a maintenance clean but don’t require extensive paint correction or restoration.
Love Your Car, But Hate Seeing the Paint in Direct Sunlight?
Swirl marks, wash marring, holograms, scratches and oxidation can dramatically reduce paint clarity and gloss.
Professional paint correction physically refines the paint surface rather than temporarily concealing defects with fillers or glaze.
Depending on the condition of the paint and the result you’re trying to achieve, this may involve anything from a light machine polish through to multi-stage correction.

Our Maintenance Detail is designed to maintain rather than restore a vehicle and provides professional inside-and-out detailing in approximately half a day.

For vehicles where the objective goes well beyond conventional detailing, our Signature Restoration Detail combines extensive detailing, wheels-off work, Level 3 multi-stage paint correction and comprehensive ceramic protection.
Typically requiring 50–70+ hours of specialist labour over approximately two weeks, it represents the highest level of work available from Custom Car Care Wagga.

Paint correction is the controlled machine-polishing process used to permanently reduce or remove defects from automotive paintwork.
These can include:

That’s why used vehicles requiring significant correction are generally inspected before the appropriate level of work is recommended.

At one end of the market is fast cosmetic presentation – a wash, vacuum, shiny tyres and products designed to make a vehicle look cleaner quickly.
At the other is genuine restorative and specialist detailing, where hours or sometimes days are spent deep cleaning, correcting, refining and protecting a vehicle.
That’s the end of the market we operate in.
Our workshop rate is $125 per hour including GST, with our detailing packages priced around the labour, skill, equipment and workshop time required to perform the work properly.
That means a half-day Maintenance Detail is priced differently from a full-day Premium Detail.
A two-stage paint correction requires considerably more workshop time.
And a comprehensive correction and ceramic coating treatment may require the vehicle for several days.
You’re not simply paying for products to be applied to your vehicle. You’re paying for the time, preparation and skilled workmanship required to produce the finished result.
