A perfect example is something we see regularly with brand-new vehicles.
New paintwork doesn’t necessarily mean perfect paintwork and it doesn’t always mean a vehicle is ready for ceramic coating.
Shipping, handling, storage and dealership preparation can leave a new vehicle with swirl marks, light scratches, water spotting, adhesive residue and other defects that need to be addressed before protection is applied.
A recent 2026 Isuzu MU-X X-Terrain arrived at our workshop with just 32 km on the odometer.
Despite being brand new, the Slate Grey Metallic paintwork required correction and refinement. The vehicle underwent two days of paint preparation and refinement, along with thorough cleaning and decontamination to remove adhesive residue, grime and other contamination before the coatings were applied.
Only once the finish was properly prepared was the Modesta ceramic protection applied.
That’s why we don’t simply wash a vehicle and apply a coating.
We inspect it. We prepare it. We correct what needs correcting. Then we protect the finish we’ve created.
Because a ceramic coating can protect what’s underneath it but it can’t correct defects or compensate for poor preparation underneath it.

Professional paint correction physically refines the paint surface rather than temporarily concealing defects with fillers or glaze.

Paint correction is the controlled machine-polishing process used to permanently reduce or remove defects from automotive paintwork.
